Amorini Silver Nipple Soothers for Breastfeeding…

I have the Amorini Silver Nipple Soothers on my “Item’s worth buying postpartum” list. They were a lifesaver in the beginning of breastfeeding Apple! I remember nursing the boys and having to go through the pain of the early feeding days. These worked tremendously for me with Apple! Helping speed along the healing and keeping my bra and nursing pads off the area that was sore.

You are probably asking what are the Amorini Nipple Soothers?
Well, to put it simply they are small shields that go over your nipples to ease the pain of breastfeeding and help the nipples heal faster. They have a natural antibacterial property that heals wounds. In the case of breastfeeding- cracked and painful nipples get relief!
When you start nursing your baby even the best latch can still result in over sensitive and painful nipples. Partly to do with hormones and lots to do with the actual function of breastfeeding. If your baby is not latching well you may get cracked nipples and more. (**see a doctor or lactation specialist if pain persists or baby is not latching well or feeding correctly.) Now, do not panic! Breastfeeding is a beautiful thing and you can overcome these hurdles. I promise they wont last forever.
The Amorini Silver Nipple Soothers can help naturally because of the antibacterial properties of pure silver. On top of the benefits which I will list below are the shape and protection will help cover those sensitive nipples in your bra. Having the friction from your bra or nursing pads can amplify the pain or annoyance and these work great to block that. I also loved the fact that they didn’t stick to my nipple like my nursing pads would. Trust me, if you ever are newly nursing and toughening up those nipples, the pain of peeling off a nursing pad that is stuck is worse than nails on a chalk board! But breastfeeding it joyous right! lol! For real it actually is …when we get through the early days.

The benefits of silver
~antibacterial
~hypoallergenic
~safe and 100% natural that allows feeding to happen without need to wash or wipe nipples
~studies show silver to have the ability to destroy over 650 known pathogenic microorganisms compared to cream that can kill fewer than 10.
~reusable
~washable and easy to clean
~with proper cleaning you can pass along your Amorini soothers to a new mama (more and more lactation consultants are renting these out)

The Moba baby bassinet…

If you are looking for a contemporary moses basket the Moba is it! The best part is it will last for as many children as you want to have! The perfect construction and materials can help a dozen babies sleep if your heart desires that many! lol

This basket is so awesome! Unlike the rattan style bassinet’s the Moba is stronger and more durable. The hypoallergenic plastic doesn’t break down and creates a much better sleeping space. The nice high sides and smooth walls are wonderful for newborns and babies to lay inside safely. No need to worry about broken wicker poking baby! The plastic has breathable holes which allows maximum airflow. Airflow is important for your newborns sleeping space. The generous space for baby has good airflow and room if you choose to use wearable sleeping blankets.

The Moba’s sturdy handles are perfect when you need to transport baby around the house. Pair it up with a bassinet stand and you have a perfect option beside your bed.
The Moba comes in over eight colors from pretty neutrals to bold brights! You can select your bedding to mix and match a fun look. This really has design, function and appeal all in one! The Moba is a perfect modern option for birth to six months old. The cover is very easy to remove and wash. Something us busy parents need to think about! Nothing worse than a million ties to undo and mess with when washing bedding. The plastic foundation of the Moba is made from hypoallergenic plastic that is soft to the touch and easily washable.
The best part is the Moba is made in the UK with a low carbon footprint. Making it a great alternative for parents seeking non-China made produced baby products.
The Moba is recyclable however it would make a great storage bin for stuffed animals and toys for baby.
I love the neutral grey but there are many color options to suit even the boldest nursery design.
Carry handles make is easy and portable to take from room to room.
Ventilation for optimum airflow.

Soft 100 % cotton sheets available in many colors.

Sleek design look amazing in many style homes.

The luxury padded mattress is soft and comfortable.

Up close of the available waffle liner. The liner allows airflow as you can see by the light.

Nick Jr Blaze and the Monster Machines & Shimmer and Shine…

I was compensated for attending this event sponsored by Nick Jr. and Mom.me. The thoughts and opinions below are my own

We were recently invited to a fun event put on by Nick Jr for Blaze and the Monster Machines and Shimmer and Shine. I jumped at the opportunity to attend and write about the event! Blaze is one of Kingsley’s favorite shows on Nick Jr.! If you are not into the toddler years yet just wait, it happens fast. Your little ones will start recognizing their favorite characters and it will give mama a little quiet time when needed when the show is on.

On Sunday we packed up the kids including the big boys and headed to LA. Thankfully the drive was short and sweet because there was no traffic. We arrived at the Peterson Automotive Museum late morning and were in awe over the beautiful building.

Up we went to the roof top patio and I think Kingsley near fell over! It was Blaze and the Monster Machine heaven!! I was so excited too and elbowing Kurt to take note for Christmas gifts. LOL!

Kingsley enjoyed the Blaze motorized truck. It was his first time in a driving vehicle like that. It is a really good size and speed for older toddlers. You could easily keep up with a quick walk beside your little one. Another favorite was the track. We actually opened up the track before Christmas because he couldn’t stop talking about it and bugging us to play with it. His brother Kaeden assembled it with him and I have so far gotten some wonderful hours of quiet time when he has been playing with it! I would say that is our favorite toy for sure!!
Here are some of the photo’s from our fun filled day.

The family line up! Never easy to get them together for a photo.

The first thing Kingsley spotted was the Blaze Power Wheels truck to drive!

My heart melted.. I pretty much was going to buy him the truck on the spot.

All smiles!

Wearing the AJ costume and having a “snack” with brother. This may have been their second time for food!

The coolest green screen rising in the Blaze truck. They made each child a mini flip book that had them driving in the Blaze the Monster Machine cartoon.

The excitement for dolls with hair was real for this mommy! I can’t wait to show Apple how to do braids and brush hair!

She was all smiles in the Shimmer and Shine area! I think we have a new fan!

Take me on the magic carpet! I secretly wish I could dress up like these girls on the daily.

Tastes of the fresh made ice cream.

This is a must for your gift list! The spring track shoots the trucks speeding around.

Yes, that is the fourteen year old brother playing with the track. My boys will never be too old for this.

Thank you Nick Jr for the head start on our Christmas gifts! The DVD’s will be super handy for the car rides to LA especially!

Your Life in Letters keepsake book…

I want to share one of my favourite finds from the ABC trade show I went to in October. If you are like so many of us mamas, you have the best intentions in world to keep a baby book. Often we have the sweet little newborn and as they nap we write down their schedules, dirty diapers, weight, when they first smile, when they roll over and then reality hits and the baby book gets lost in the mix of motherhood. We forget to write the day they got their first tooth or how many weeks they were when they first crawled and guilt sets in! Heck, some of us have another baby and the next doesn’t even get past the first page of writing their name and birth weight!

Well, I met one smart mama named Brynne who came up with a baby book solution! It’s called “Your life in Letters“. A keepsake collection of once-a-year letters you write to your child from birth to age eighteen. This easy to use book only requires you to sit one time a year to pour your heart out to your child. There is a photo spot to add a picture of your little one (or big as they grow) and an envelope with a note inside ready to write on. You can add more if you feel the desire to write a longer letter. I do love the size of the paper because it doesn’t feel overwhelming to fill out.
I am planning on starting the three smaller kids letters. I know that I won’t have Kaeden and Kinglsey from birth but they will appreciate the years they get going forward.

When I was pregnant with Braedy I bought a note book to write him letters during my pregnancy. I wish I had kept up after he turned five years. Here are some excerpts of the notes I would write to him. I can tell you that years later I feel all sorts of emotions being able to read these.

August 19, 1998

Dear baby Shaw,
Well my due date is just around the corner. Your dad and I are getting very excited. You have a beautiful room ready for you. Your dad built you an armoire and matching change table. The work he did looks great. You have lots of toys and clothes waiting for you to be played with and worn by you. I’ve had a great pregnancy. No morning sickness or other problems. I haven’t changed much since I found out I was pregnant with you but of course I eat healthy and don’t smoke or drink. You are pretty calm baby, you just wiggle around all the time, you don’t kick much and you never hurt my ribs.

Well, I can’t wait until you’re here. I already love you so much and all I want do is bring you home to hold and cuddle you

love always mommy

October 1, 1998

Dear Braedy,
You are a wonderful baby! I love you so much. We sleep together and spend the days cuddling and playing together. I couldn’t imagine life without you. You’re getting big so fast. I wish you would stay small longer. I love to hold you and cuddle you and you’re starting to recognize me……

May 17, 1999

Dear Braedy,
It has been a long time since I wrote to you. I have been so busy with going back to work and trying to spend all my time with you. I love you so much and we are so happy to have you in our lives. You’re a very smart baby and very strong….

October 2, 2002

Dear Braedy,
Your brother Kaeden Isaiah was born February 21, 2002. Our lives have changed in the last year. First of all Braedy, you’re growing up so fast I can’t believe it. I miss you as a little baby. You’re always trying to act so big and grown-up at age 4. It started in the last year when I found out I was pregnant (you were asking for a baby for a while). You were so very excited when you found out! I was very sick but you were so good to me. I would be throwing up and you would just be playing by yourself and staying content…..

When you first met your brother it was love at first sight. Of course I breastfeed Kaeden and this has you concerned if your brother is eating enough. You offer to help hold him while I am feeding him and are always involved in caring for the baby……

Kaeden this is a note for you. Boy oh boy! Starting from a couple days old you cry all the time! Finally, the last month since you started crawling you have been much happier……

The letters go on to talk about our lives and the little things. I can tell you that back then it didn’t seem like much to write them but having these to read now is amazing. I love to remember the house we were in or what job I was working and to have my boys hear that I held and loved them as much as they see their younger siblings get love.
I think the Life in Letters book would make the perfect shower gift!

Writing tips ::
*
Do not stress about perfection! Your child will love anything you choose to say.
*
On the back of the letter add their height and weight. My boys love to compare sizes to each other.
*
Use easy apps like Costco print or Walmart to grab that single photo with your regular grocery shopping. These days prints are rare to do.
*
Grab an extra paper or two and ask a family member or special friend to write a note too.
*
Even if you are late or miss some time pick up from that moment and write the note. I plan to do some extra writing after thirteen years to my kids this weekend.
